Getting to RYE

Driving

Raise Your Energy is located at the G Ranch along Forest Service Road 11N01 in New Cuyama, CA. When traveling to the festival, please enter the RYE coordinates into your GPS and follow the below-listed directions and on-site signage.

RYE Coordinates

  1. From I-5 merge onto CA-166 W
  2. Follow CA-166 W to Cottonwood Canyon Road
  3. Head South on Cottonwood Canyon Road (4.5 miles)
  4. Turn right at Foothill Road (0.5 miles)
  5. Turn right onto Cottonwood Canyon Road towards the G Ranch entrance (green gate) (0.25 miles)
  6. Head North on Forest Service Road 11N01 (dirt road), keeping right at the fork (0.5 miles)
  7. Continue past the green G Ranch house and arrive at the Raise Your Energy gates

Arrivals

Gates open Thursday, 9/26 at 2pm and close Sunday, 9/29 at 2pm.

Please have your Raise Your Energy ticket ready in your car at the festival entrance to exchange it for your wristband. Once you receive your wristband you will be directed to The Outer Space to park and set-up camp.

Camping

Your place is in The Outer Space! Embrace the RYE community in our shared freeform camping space.

The Outer Space is located near the festival entrance in an open plain. Shade structures, rugs, tables, chairs, lighting, etc. are all encouraged to make this canvas your festival oasis.

  • Cars and campers will be guided in on a first come first serve basis and parked at your spot. If you're coming with friends we recommend arriving together to ensure you will be camped together. As there are no individual sites we encourage taking only as much space as you need to leave room for your neighbors.
  • The Outer Space has portable bathrooms and showers. There is also a flushable toilet and outdoor shower in the festival grounds.
  • Please be sure to bring your own water, ice, and battery powered electricity as there is no potable water or shared electricity on site.
  • The closest store and gas station is located in the small town of New Cuyama, approximately 20 minutes from the festival.
  • Cellphone service at the festival may be limited, please prepare accordingly.

Sustainability

Prep Green

  • Unwrap new items at home and pre-pack food into reusable containers to limit unnecessary waste at the festival.
  • Opt for aluminum cans over glass bottles to avoid broken glass for us, the animals, and future visitors.
  • Ditch disposables and bring reusable water bottles, utensils, cups, plates, etc. A faucet will be available in the festival grounds to wash dishes.
  • Don't forget trash bags!

Party Green

  • Split your trash and recycling into separate bags!
  • Pick-up loose trash and items at your campsite before leaving and before bed. New Cuyama commonly gets wind gusts that can displace unwanted items across the ranch.
  • Throw away all trash into bags, even if it's biodegradable. Mother Nature only works so fast, and a festival's worth of orange peels will only create a mess for the next visitors.

Pack-Up Green

  • Do a final sweep of your site to pick-up any bits of plastic, paper towels, bottle caps, etc.
  • Help out the Green Team and do a final sweep of the festival grounds and Outer Space to catch any communal trash.
  • Haul your personal trash and recycling back with you. If you don't have room, notify Da Trash Man or a Green Team member so it can be properly disposed of.

Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being by staying hydrated, resting, and respecting your limits. Remember, only you can control your behavior, so make choices that contribute to the collective good.

2. Look Out for One Another

This festival is a shared experience, and we are stronger together. If you see someone who appears lost, unwell, or in need of support, offer help or seek assistance from festival staff. Your vigilance can make all the difference in ensuring everyone feels safe and supported.

3. Enthusiastic Consent & Boundaries

Consent is key in all interactions. Ensure that every exchange, whether verbal or physical, is entered into with clear and enthusiastic agreement. Respect both verbal and non-verbal boundaries at all times. Non-verbal cues, like creating physical distance or avoiding eye contact, should be honored with the same respect as verbal communication. Always ask, never assume.

4. Celebrate Inclusivity

Raise Your Energy is a place for all, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, or ability. Discrimination or bigotry in any form will not be tolerated. How to Raise Your Energy

All that you see and experience at Raise Your Energy is created and operated by the attendees themselves. Whether large or small scale, everyone participates and contributes in making the magic happen. First time attendees are welcomed to explore, dance, make friends, try new things, and learn how to best Raise Your Energy. Returning attendees are encouraged to volunteer, perform, lead an activity, create art, operate an interactive experience, or offer up whatever individual skill they can best provide. This collective effort not only makes the festival function but aids in our mission of creating a truly special and authentic experience.
